Welcome to Hill Crest
Cottage Bed & Breakfast, a beautiful 200 year old cottage located on the picturesque island of Guernsey, in
the Channel Islands. We have some lovely views of the island, looking out over the sea towards the French coast
and also over to St. Peter Port (Guernsey's capital) with its harbour and the mediaeval Castle Cornet.
It takes just five minutes to walk to the seashore which is pleasant for an evening stroll (though stony and not a swimming
beach) and in a further twenty you are in Guernsey's bustling capital. So whether you bring your own car, hire
one, use the bus, hire bikes or simply walk, you are centrally located to many of the island's attractions.
Sue Corbet is your
host; she has lived on the island for thirty years and will be delighted to make your stay as pleasant and memorable as possible.
She tries to advise her guests on the best restaurants and beaches (depending on wind direction etc.) and she can also point
you towards some of the island treasures that only the locals know about. She will be happy to arrange transport to and from
the ferry/airport or help with organising day trips to Herm, Sark and Jersey, our sister islands. Hill Crest is moderately
priced and affords excellent value.
Hill Crest Cottage
is a forty minute walk from Guernsey's famous Castle Cornet. This landmark has played a major role in the history of the
British Isles from the time of William the Conqueror, through the Civil War and most recently, of course, it was fortified
by the Germans in World War II. In the evenings, it is illuminated and can clearly be seen from either of the bedrooms at
Hill Crest.
Because of its location
Hill Crest Cottage is ideal for access to the two major towns on Guernsey, St Sampson's and St Peter Port. A
pleasant 20-30 minute stroll along the sea front finds you at the heart of the capital, 10 minutes in the other direction
and you are in the shopping centre of St Sampson with its brand new marina.
